Kouchibouguac National Park

Location : New Brunswick

Pedal the well-maintained gravel trails that will take you to beautiful wildflower fields, bogs, saltwater lagoons and through the great Acadian forest. Explore more than 60 km of bike trails that will have you discovering the diverse maritime plain ecosystems.

Roll along the Kouchibouguac River and make a special stop at the “Sandstone Garden” to admire the river and visit the famous Leaning Pine. Afterwards, see if you can find the “Bridge Under the Bridge,” a less traveled route that crosses the winding Black River.

Want to challenge the kids on a slightly more difficult trail? Try your hand at mountain biking on the Major Kollock Creek Trail.

Point Pelee National Park

Location : Ontario

Discover Point Pelee via bike! There’s 12 km of biking trails and 9 km of paved road just waiting for you to explore.

Ride the Centennial Hike and Bike Trail, an easy, winding, multi-purpose 6 km trail. Pass through a variety of habitats: forest, savannah, swamp forest, marsh, and beach! Take a refreshing break, you deserve it!

Forillon national Park

Location : Quebec

Ride along the shoreline for a short and sweet 4 km adventure on the Du Banc Trail. Enjoy the view as you bike past majestic cliffs and make sure to stop at the observation tower and picnic area to extend the magical moment.

For a longer family adventure, bike alongside the peaceful L'Anse-au-Griffon River as you explore all 9.2 km of La Vallée Trail. Take a break at the halfway point and take in the beauty around you.

Are the kids up for a challenge on an intermediate trail? Continue your adventure through open fields and forest on the Le Portage Trail.

Keep an eye out for moose, bears and porcupines!

Lachine Canal National Historic Site

Location : Quebec

Discover one of the most beautiful urban bike paths in the world! Ride the canal from one end to the other for a total of 13.5 km. Opened in 1977, the Lachine Canal’s path is one of the oldest in the Montreal area and one of the most popular. Take advantage of the beautiful parks and green spaces along the canal for a picnic break.

Grasslands National Park

Location : Saskatchewan

Explore the park’s roads as you ride with the wind through rolling hills and wildflower meadows.

Bike the beautiful Badlands Parkway, an 11 km single-lane paved road designed to showcase the spectacular viewpoints which overlook the badlands of Rock Creek.

Each viewpoint has a unique story, so make sure to take a stop and read the interpretive panels delicately nested in the landscape.

For an even more breathtaking experience, do this ride at sunset. This is an adventure you will never forget!

Banff National Park

Location : Alberta

Winding through sun-speckled forest, flower-filled meadows and mountain views, discover the scenic paved route between Banff and Lake Louise known as the Bow Valley Parkway. Thanks to the Bow Valley Parkway Cycling Experience, you can cycle the 17 km eastern section of the parkway between Fireside Picnic Area and Johnston Canyon car-free in the spring and fall. Remember, Banff is a very popular destination, plan ahead and visit in the off season for the best experience!

La Mauricie National Park

Location : Quebec

Ready to take on a challenge with your friends? Grab your road bike and treat yourself to a ride on the Parkway!

Let yourself be dazzled by many panoramic viewpoints of the park as you pedal 63 km of beautiful winding road, punctuated by many climbs and descents.

Take advantage of many picnic areas to take a break or simply refresh yourself by dipping your toes in one of many lakes.

Remember to ride in single file: sharing the road safely is everyone's responsibility!

Mount Revelstoke National Park

Location : British Columbia

Ride 26 km of paved road on the Meadows-in-the-Sky Parkway, a road that climbs 1400 m to the top of Mount Revelstoke. Catch your breath at one of the seven lookouts and see the magnificent Monashee and Selkirk mountain ranges.

If you are biking early in the morning or late in the day to avoid traffic, be extra vigilant and reduce your speed to minimize sudden encounters with wildlife.

Prince Edward Island National Park

Location : Prince Edward Island

Ride your bike to the water's edge! Explore the Gulf Shore Way and see for yourself that there is no better way to explore PEI’s spectacular northern shore than by bike.

Take in the ocean air on this beautiful, easy, paved, coastal route. Cycle past the iconic red sandstone cliffs of Cavendish, the scenic dunescapes of Brackley, the iconic Covehead lighthouse and breathtaking beaches.

Go off-road, grab your mountain bike and explore many kilometers of hard packed dirt trails with varying degrees of difficulty! Choose between easier trails suitable for the whole family or seek that adrenaline rush and ride trails designed for experts.

Fundy National Park

Location : New Brunswick

Whether you're looking for flat, wooded mountain biking trails for family outings or challenging, technical trails, there's something for every mountain biker at Fundy!

Hungry for a challenge? Head out on the 11 km long Goose River Trail and put your skills to the test. Pass through some of Fundy’s oldest forests on this challenging trail that rises above highlands and descends back to sea level as you arrive at Goose River.

Please note that the bike trails are also used for hiking. As a courtesy, please yield to hikers.

Riding Mountain National Park

Location : Manitoba

Head out for a memorable ride along the mountain bike trails that make up the East Escarpment Trail Hub. These trails are the perfect place to challenge yourself and reconnect with nature as you rise in elevation on challenging terrain. You'll experience some of the best views in Riding Mountain, deep gorges, and the iconic Bald Hill.

Make sure to check the trail conditions before venturing out on your bike.

Banff National Park

Location : Alberta

Explore the epic mountains, valleys, glaciers and alpine meadows that give Banff its unique charm by bike!

Did you know that the park offers over 360 km of mountain biking trails?

Explore the Banff area and make sure to check out some of the awesome trails located in the Tunnel mountain section of the park. Don't miss the 4.8 km Surprise Corner to Hoodoos Viewpoint trail, one of the most scenic trails in the park with stunning views of Mount Rundle and Bow River. Want more? Continue on the 9.7 km Tunnel Bench loop and enjoy spectacular views of Cascade Mountain and the Fairholme Range.

Pro tip: visit in the spring or fall to avoid the crowds.

Jasper National Park

Location : Alberta

Jasper has one of the best biking trail systems in the world. Biking is an excellent way to experience nature and avoid the crowds at some of Jasper’s most popular locations. Go on and explore their unique and family friendly connector trails system from the townsite or even from your tent.

Kejimkujik National Park

Location : Nova Scotia

Follow the twists and turns of the Mersey River and enjoy the scenic views as you soar along the brand new Ukme'k Trail, whose Mi'kmaq name, pronounced "ook-may-k", means "twisted".

Challenge yourself by trying the optional technical features along this 6.3 km (one way) intermediate trail. Want to keep on exploring? Continue on the Mersey River Trail to Jake's Landing and Merrymakedge!


Use your gravel bike (or mountain bike) to its full potential, as it's specifically designed to get you off the beaten path! Escape into the backcountry on gravel and forest roads. After all, a bike for rough roads means freedom!

La Mauricie National Park

Location : Quebec

Escape from everyday life and make the park your base camp for your next cycling adventure! Explore 55 km of lush forest roads as you take in the serenity of this environment.

Ride trails number 3, 7 and 8 for a 27 km round trip along Lac à la Pêche and Isaïe Lake. Take a break at the halfway point for a quick dip at Parker Falls!

Prefer a shorter ride and a beach? Take a 16 km round trip along Édouard and Marie lakes on trail number 9 and finish the day by strolling on the splendid beach of Édouard lake.

Yoho National Park

Location : British Columbia

Love to ride on forest roads? Yoho National Park is the place for you! Discover old fire roads that have been transformed into trails for biking enthusiasts.

Bike the intermediate Ottertail Valley to McArthur Creek Trail and bike along the river. Sleep under the stars in the backcountry at McArthur Creek campground or do the 32.4 km round trip. Bike with caution as you will be in sensitive and important wildlife habitat. Be on the lookout for bears, wolves and goats!

For a short and sweet adventure, explore the lush Kicking Horse Trail to Amiskwi Trail (3.6 km).

Grasslands National Park

Location : Saskatchewan

Explore the vastness of the prairies by bike!

Bike the Backcountry Loop, a challenging 60 km of scenic gravel road through prairie and badlands terrain. Make sure to take a pit stop at the Borderlands Viewpoint and take in the beauty of the panoramic Frenchman River Valley.

Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife as mule deer love these rugged lands. You may even see a cowboy or cowgirl on horseback trailing cows as part of the park’s grazing conservation program!

Check out the Trail Guide for details on the Backcountry Loop Road and remember that this amazing prairie ride is a challenging route only accessible in dry weather. Make sure to bring lots of water and sunscreen! The road is also open to vehicles, so ride cautiously.

Cape Breton Highlands National Park

Location : Nova Scotia

Take in some of the most spectacular views in Atlantic Canada as you bike along the world-famous Cabot Trail. According to Lonely Planet, this is one of the top ten places in the world to cycle!

As you bike, take in the beautiful views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and make sure to stop at the stunning MacKenzie and North Mountain lookouts to enjoy the scenery. Picnic in picturesque coves and experience the local culture of the quaint fishing villages that surround the park.

For your first evening, snooze at Corney Brook campground and for the following nights break up your trip at MacIntosh Brook and Big Intervale campgrounds, available for self-registration.

This cycling trip is one for the history books if you can handle inclines of up to 15%!

Duration: 5 to 7 days

Saint-Ours Canal National Historic Site

Location : Quebec

Explore the circuit along the water, one of the most beautiful bike tours in the Montérégie region. Discover the charm of the historic villages located along the Richelieu and St. Lawrence rivers.

Take a break at the quaint Chambly Canal or Fort Chambly.

In the evening, enjoy the comfort of an oTENTik tent at Saint-Ours to regain your strength; you will need it for another full day of biking!

Kluane National Park and Reserve

Location : Yukon

Looking for an adrenaline rush? Embark on an epic bikepacking adventure on the CottonWood Trail beginning from Kathleen Lake or Mush Lake road. Soar through spruce and popular forests, adventurous creek crossings, mountain passes and stunning open meadows.

Keep an eye out for the many wildlife species that inhabit this area such as: Dall sheep, mountain goats, grizzly bears, black bears, ptarmigan, owls and moose!

Ensure that you plan your trip carefully and are prepared to travel safely as you are in bear country.

Distance: 85 km (loop)

Duration: 1 to 2 days

Fundy National Park

Location : New Brunswick

Explore Fundy any season as you venture through a 20 km network of multi-purpose trails where you can go fat biking! Don't have a bike? No problem, you can rent one on site.

Take advantage of the Chignecto recreation area: it is fully equipped with showers, and even a dining room and wood stoves, perfect for those chilly days.

Riding Mountain National Park

Location : Manitoba

Discover a vast network of winter trails on your fat bike. For a moderate 2.5 km ride, enjoy the snow along the Burls and Bittersweet snow bike trail. In the summer, ride along Clear Lake as you explore South Shore Trail.

Kouchibouguac National Park

Location : New Brunswick

Explore several kilometers of beautiful trails, in any season, that twist and turn through Acadian forest. During winter, several of Kouchibouguac’s trails are reserved for fat bikes between the Pijeboogwek shelter and La Source shelter. Rent a bike and try this fun activity!

Fundy National Park

Location : New Brunswick

Looking for something different? Try the Pump Track, an exhilarating circuit of rollers, banked turns, and features designed to create momentum. No need to pedal, you'll be propelled by your body movements! Pump your bike over the bumps to build up the speed needed to go around the track.

Mount Revelstoke National Park

Location : British Columbia

Have fun at the Beaver Lodge Kids’ Bike Park, a creative playground for young children. Let your kids develop their bike skills while playing and learning.

Try your hand at obstacles like the dragonfly teeter totter, the animal overpass and the giant snail. Fun for the whole family awaits!


  • Follow all posted signs and speed limits. Areas where cycling is allowed are marked.
  • Share roads and trails respectfully and safely. Yield and warn other users of your presence. Pass in a courteous manner. When going downhill, give priority to those going up.
  • Be extra careful when approaching a horse and follow the rider's instructions.
  • Respect closures. Some trails or areas may be closed to the public for environmental or safety reasons.
  • Avoid riding on wet and muddy trails, as they are more vulnerable to damage. Consider an alternate route where the trails are drier.
  • Always stay on the trail and do not cut through switchbacks.
  • Be alert and scan the landscape. Cycling is quiet and fast, which can lead to sudden encounters with wildlife. Be prepared to stop quickly and give animals enough space and time to get away.
  • Learn about the wildlife you may encounter and use our tips to respect wildlife and stay safe.
  • Supervise your children and keep them close.
  • Choose a bike route that is appropriate for your skill level.
  • Remember to leave no trace and pack out everything you bring.

Plan your visit well and be aware of the rules!


What trails can be used by pedal assist electric bikes (e-bikes)?

Consult the website of the park you are planning to visit to find out which trails you are allowed to ride. Pedal assist e-bikes are not permitted on some trails due to the increased risk of encountering wildlife at high speeds as well as to protect the habitat of sensitive species.

What type of electric bikes are allowed at permitted locations?

Bikes that have the following features:

  • Power assistance immediately ceases when you stop pedaling.
  • The motor generates no more than 500 watts.
  • Power assistance stops when the bicycle attains a speed of 32 km/h on level ground.
  • The bike is equipped with a safety mechanism that prevents the motor from being engaged before the bicycle attains a speed of 3 km/h.

Are e-bikes with throttles permitted?

Throttle can only be used on roadways and is prohibited on trails.
